Before you start a thread or reply to a build log, read these definitions and conditions. They keep the forum useful and prevent misunderstandings about tool reviews, safety advice, and supplier recommendations.
A tool review must be based on hands-on use in your own workshop. We ask for the machine or tool model, the materials you ran through it, and the jobs you attempted. Photos of the setup help, but the written part should cover setup time, repeatability, and any failures you hit. Spec-sheet comparisons without shop time are moved to the equipment discussion board.
An entry is considered finished when you post a final photo of the assembled part or fixture, a short list of operations performed, and the material used. It does not need to be production-ready or polished. The goal is to show a complete workflow, so partial progress shots are welcome but do not count as a submission for the challenge poll.
Safety guidance must be specific to the machine and operation being discussed. General reminders like wear eye protection are fine, but we expect details: which guard to keep in place, what spindle speed range is safe for a given cutter, or when to lock out power before clearing a jam. If you are not certain about a procedure, say so and suggest consulting the machine manual.
Supplier posts must include the city or region, the product category, and your own purchase experience. We do not verify prices or stock levels, so members should confirm availability before traveling. Recommendations that read like advertisements, with no personal order history, are removed. If you work for a supplier, disclose that in the post.
You may link to external build logs or videos, but the thread should summarize what you learned and how it applies to a small workshop setup. Copy-pasting an entire guide from another site is not allowed. We want original context: what worked for you, what did not, and what you would change on the next attempt.
Threads about routine upkeep, lubrication schedules, belt tension, or spindle alignment belong in the maintenance board. If your post is about fixing a recurring fault rather than a one-off setup question, it will be moved there. This keeps the main fabrication boards focused on technique and project work.
